Good day, folks....
This is a"blog of what is happening in the world of SHARP, the Sunset Hts. Assoc. of Responsible People. SHARP was founded as the Sunset Heights Improvement Club, at 1736 9th Ave, around 1910..
The founders had the foresight to buy the two lots now known as 1736 and 1740 Ninth Ave.
A few years ago, we sold the upper lot, to raise $685,000 to build our great new building at 1736
9th Ave, where our Meeting Room is behind the garage.
Being hidden away like this is like having "a Speakeasy", as they were called during Prohibition.
In our "Modern Speakeasy", we have monthly public meetings, on the last Monday of the month, at
7-pm.

The upcoming Meeting, on 9 24 2012, will feature a debate on the issue of "tearing down OShaugnessy Dam", which is the reason that Hetch Hetchey reservoir exists. The folks who want to tear it down, say that it is a crime against nature to have flooded Tuolomne Valley, as it is equal to Yosemite Park's existing, world famous valley....
This is the source of the drinking water that SF consumes.... The folks who oppose the removal of the current dam...say that we do not have the money to do this, among other reasons..
Come and witness a lively debate, and then decide for yourself.
Coffee and tea and cookies served.... Free Admission.
